Setting up a computer society
So, you want to setup a computer society? Well, before you even begin there are several questions you should ask yourself...
Can you spare the time?
You'd be surprised at just how much time running a computer society can use up.
Is there already a computer society at your university?
Before you even start thinking about the process of setting up a computer society, check to make sure that there is no other group of people trying to do the same thing. There may already be a computer society going under a different name, or a broader society that includes large elements of computing.
Is someone else also trying to setup a computer society?
Once you know that there is no existing society providing the services that a computer society would, you need to find out whether or not someone else is also trying to setup such a group. It may be that there are several people who all want to get involved with this, and it's far better to work together as a group than as individuals.
